Problem
Maintenance is called to a machine due to paper jams
Solution
- Slack, too much web slack
- Check roll break and tighten as needed
- Check striker bar adjustment and adjust slack as needed
- Glue or dirt build up on former
- Check for glue or other build up on former and clean as needed
- Happening at pinch
- Check pinch on rollers and replace as needed
- Check top and bottom plate
- Check heights are set per setup sheet and adjust as needed
- Check tape on plates per setup and replace as needed
- Happening between feed rollers and lip knife
- Feed rollers
- Check pressure is even between feed rollers and adjust to make even if needed
- Check side to side (lateral) placement of feed roller and move as needed (per setup)
- Check feed roller diameter and replace if needed
- Former placement
- Check former height is set correctly
- Check former is centered
- Feed rollers
