Problem

Maintenance is called to a machine due to paper jams

Solution


  1. Slack, too much web slack
    1. Check roll break and tighten as needed
    2. Check striker bar adjustment and adjust slack as needed
  2. Glue or dirt build up on former
    1. Check for glue or other build up on former and clean as needed
  3. Happening at pinch
    1. Check pinch on rollers and replace as needed
    2. Check top and bottom plate
      1. Check heights are set per setup sheet and adjust as needed
      2. Check tape on plates per setup and replace as needed
  4. Happening between feed rollers and lip knife
    1. Feed rollers
      1. Check pressure is even between feed rollers and adjust to make even if needed
      2. Check side to side (lateral) placement of feed roller and move as needed (per setup)
      3. Check feed roller diameter and replace if needed
    2. Former placement
      1. Check former height is set correctly
      2. Check former is centered
